Skills

Over the years I have acquired various skills in computing. I have listed below the Programs and Languages I am skilled in and a brief description on how I have developed / acquired these.

Programs

Adobe CS4 (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash)
I started using adobe products when I first started creating digital multimedia. I acquired self taught skills in Dreamweaver, Photoshop and flash before enrolling in University. Learning Photoshop seemed a rather hard task so I acquired video training modules to learn from. These modules required about 200 hours of training.

I futhered my skills in these programs while at University.

Autodesk 3D Studio Max 7 / 8 / 9 / 2008
I started using 3D Max in my first year on the multimedia computing degree. I have been using it for a couple of projects since passing the module such projects include a e-invite video for Barclays. I am currently enhancing my skills in 3D design over the summer of 2009.

Microsoft Office XP / 07 (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
I First started using MS Office products in School, where I developed good office based skills. These skills have been vastly improved over the years of using MS Office products.

Microsoft Windows (9X / 2K / XP Home & Pro / Vista Premium & Ultimate, Win7 Ultimate)
I have used MS Windows operating systems since 1997 (I have briefly tried others such as Mac OS / Linux Redhat)

Microsoft Visual Studio .Net
I First used Visual Studio at college where I learned basic skills, I then developed my skills further in University creating simple programs.

Languages

(X)HTML
I started out learing HTML while at school, this was at a very basic level, when at college I progressed to a good standard in HTML creating simple websites. I then furthered my experience at University creating complex websites to W3C and WAI standards.

CSS
I first started creating Cascading Style Sheets at the end of college and furthered my experience at University creating to W3C standards.

SEO
Search Engine Optomization has always been apart of my leaning while at collage and universtiy. I pride myself to always create websites that are to the current standards and meet W3C standards aswel as constantly tweeking these sites to be search engine friendly.

PHP
I started using PHP at University where I have developed my skills to a good standard. I am currently creating a fully customsed PHP/mysql Content Management System for a fasion design student.

SQL
I started using SQL at College where I created databases using MS Access.I furthered these skills at University then moved on to using Oracle. I created larger and more complex databases, while also creating simple small databases with PHP in websites.

C++
I started using C++ at University where I have developed my skills to a good basic standard.

VB
I started using VB at University where I have developed my skills to a good basic standard.

Other IT Skills

Over the years I have repaired / maintained and built custom PC's for friends / family and myself. I have previously been involved in work where custom PC builds have been part of my work.
